A 17-year-old male was shot and killed Monday evening on Aurora’s east side.
At approximately 9:33pmMonday, Aurora Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Metropolitan Street., where they located a 17-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Patrol officers immediately began life-saving efforts before Aurora Fire Paramedics transported the victim to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division responded to the scene, along with Evidence Technicians, to begin a comprehensive investigation. The Kane County Coroner’s Office took custody of the victim at the hospital and performed an autopsy yesterday to determine the exact cause of death. The victim’s identity was confirmed by the Coroner’s Office but has not been released.
