The Aurora Uke Fest (formally the City of Lights Ukulele Festival) will return this weekend with performances on Saturday from 4pm-11pm and workshops Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
According to the City of Lights Ukulele Festivsl society, musicians like George Harrison, Eddie Vedder, Taylor Swift, Cliff Edwards, Jake Shimabukuro, and the late Israel Kamakawiwo’ole helped popularize the ukulele.
Americans bought 1.6 million ukuleles in 2019, according to the group.
For the second year in a row, the Aurora Ukulele Festival will be held inside Two Brother’s Roundhouse at 205 North Broadway in Aurora.





The event includes workshops, food, vendors and performances byAaron Baer, Bird Watchers, Lil Rev, Hoapilli & Hula O Puanini, Aaron Baer, the Hix Brothers Ukulele Band, Lisa Mannion, and Uncle Jon’s Music.
