A woman is in hospital after suffering injuries during a gunfire incident in Elgin Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 1:47pm Tuesday, Elgin police officers responded to the 600 block of Raymond Street where they located an adult female victim who was subsequently transported to an area hospital.
Authorities believe that this is an isolated incident where all parties are accounted for at this time and there is no threat to the community.
Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the incident.
