A 29-year-old Cortland woman was killed early Wednesday evening when the motorcycle she was riding as a passenger collided with an SUV on Butterfield Road in Aurora.
According to Aurora police, at around 5:02pm Wednesday a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling eastbound on Butterfield Road and attempted to make a U-turn in the roadway. While turning, a 1990 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound on Butterfield Road was unable to stop and struck the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The collision resulted in the driver of the motorcycle, a 30-year-old male from Batavia, being ejected from the motorcycle and coming to rest off the roadway. The victim was ejected into the westbound lanes of Butterfield Road, where she was struck by a westbound vehicle. Both were transported to a local hospital by Aurora Fire Department paramedics for treatment.
The driver of the motorcycle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the victim’s injuries were identified as life-threatening.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 37-year-old female from Naperville and her passenger, a 37-year-old male from North Aurora, were also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, the victim, identified as Nicole Ross, passed away due to her injuries sustained in the crash.
