On January 26th at 4:04pm, Elgin police officers responded to the 0-99 block of South Jackson Street in Elgin for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that shots fired had occurred.

After further investigation, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office charged an 18-year-old male suspect with Aggravated Discharge of a firearm at a person/vehicle (Class X Felony); and Aggravated Discharge of a firearm in the direction of a person/occupied vehicle (Class 1 Felony).

An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect who was taken into custody on Monday. He was transported to the Kane County Jail on Tuesday for a pre-trial detention hearing where the Judge ordered Mr. Camargo to be detained pending a future court date.
