The United City of Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department will present the annual Yorkville River Fest this Friday and Saturday at Riverfront Park (131E Hydraulic Ave) in Yorkville. The weekend will be full of live country music, cardboard boat races, craft beer tasting, great food, family activities, and more along the scenic Fox River.

On Friday, don’t miss out on the best of live country music as local sensation Whiskey Romance Band plays a 4-hour set from 6-10pm at Riverfront Park . Grab your crew (age 10+) and captain your own hand-made cardboard boat during the Cardboard Boat Races down the Marge Cline Whitewater Course at 6:30pm (registration begins at 5pm, and best in show competition begins at 5:30pm). (Find a full list of details for the boat races, including approved building materials on the festival webpage at Yorkville.il.us/RiverFest.)

On Saturday, enjoy a fun-filled day of family activities from noon-5pm and explore the Life Size Super Mario Course and Adventures in Never Never Land. Jump into your favorite video game in the immersive LIFE SIZE Super Mario Course and compete for the highest score through a series of interactive activity levels providing a variety of different activities. Levels include Mario Kart Racetrack, Coin Grab, Mushroom Kingdom obstacle course, and more. Experience the magical world of Never Never Land as kids of all ages are transported to a world of adventure and wonder. Explore all of the magical activities including a meet and greet with the infamous Captain Hook and the mischievous Tinkerbell. Create your own custom pixie dust at the Pixie Potions station. Embark on Captain Hook’s Treasure Hunt and discover hidden treasures, or search for Peter Pan’s elusive shadow.

Boot scoot to your favorite country music with live performances by Tim Gleason, The Country Night, and Fletcher Rockwell on Saturday! Patrons 21+ are welcome to enjoy a variety of craft beers at the Valley Chimney Craft Beer Tasting from 2-6pm on Saturday, July 15.
