Update: Chad L. Dockery, 49, of Hinsdale, IL contacted 911 Wednesday evening to report that he had murdered his former wife, Amanda R. Dockery, 48, a resident of the Pebble Beach Court home, according to a release from the City of Geneva.  At the time of the call Chad informed police dispatchers he was armed with a pistol.

Upon the arrival of the first responding officer, Chad was observed inside a vehicle at the end of the home’s driveway.  As the officer approached, a gun was fired.  Chad was found to be suffering from a self-inflicted gun shot wound inside the vehicle.  A 9mm pistol was recovered from the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Geneva Police Department and members of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force as additional facts are gathered.  Autopsies of the deceased by the Kane County Coroner’s Office are pending.

A man and a woman are dead after suffering gunshot wounds in an apparent domestic dispute in the Eagle Brook neighborhood of Geneva.

According to Geneva Police Chief Eric Passarelli, police arrived at a home on Pebble Beach Court at approximately 5:22pm Wednesday evening and found a woman inside the residence and a man outside in the street, both with gunshot wounds.

Both were rushed to the hospital, where they died from their wounds.

Police said the scene is secure and there is no immediate risk to the public.

Passarelli indicated that the shootings “didn’t appear to be accidental” but cautioned that the investigation is in the early stages.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Kane County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting the Geneva Police Department as the investigation continues.
