As reported previously, an Elgin man was found stabbed to death in a home in the 300 block of Ryerson Avenue Sunday evening. The man has now been identified as 56-year-old Peter J. Lopez.
His alleged assailant, a 57-year-old woman who lived with him in the residence, has now been charged with murder.
At 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Elgin policeofficers responded to the 300 block of Ryerson Ave. for a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male subject with injuries who was subsequently pronounced deceased on the scene. The accused was taken into custody at that point.
