4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where we wonder if Santa and Peter Cottontail hang out during the summer.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Skywalker Meets Tchaikovsky
An interesting weekend is in store for the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
On Friday, the venerable orchestra let’s their hair down a bit and presents “Music of Star Wars,” raising the obvious question “what about Star Trek????? HUH!@???”
On Saturday its Tchaikovsky’s 4th, which raises no similar concerns (although we hear that Spock is more amenable to Chopin).

Molly Hatchet Meets The Guess Who
Perhaps not quite as jarring a juxtaposition, the Arcada in St. Charles jumps the rails a bit this weekend with shows by Molly Hatchet and The Guess Who.
For those of you not in the know, Molly Hatchet is one of the trailblazers of southern rock, while The Guess Who are a bunch of Canadians who have, nevertheless, scored early and often on the US Top 40 charts, including some #1s.
Listen to The Guess Who’s “American Woman” and you can envision the Molly Hatchet boys taking them out back and opening up a can of whoop-ass on ’em.
Or maybe it’s just us….

Toning It Down A Bit…
…we move on to the ya-hey-der Wisconsin comedy of Pete Lee.
Although he’s lived in NYC for over a decade, Lee continues the sooooo niiice, kinda dorky Wisconsinite schtick in his stand-up, and we admit, it’s pretty funny.
(He’s from Janesville, WI, so we’ll cut him some slack. We’d be kinda dorky, too, if we were brought up in that place.)

And Finally…
The weather is just wreaking havoc with Easter festivities this year.
Last weekend, we recommended having a breakfast with the Easter Bunny itself but cautioned about the freezing rain and snow forecasted for that morning.
This weekend, we’re recommending the ever-popular Easter Egg Hunt at Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles Saturday morning.
Guess what the forecast is calling for????? Ugh.

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
