4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where the Irish apparently can’t read a calendar.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Wait, Isn’t Today March 10?
Um, we’re looking at the calendar right now, as we type, and it bloody well says March 10.
Now, we may be a wee bit cheeky here, but isn’t St. Paddy’s Day on March 17? Like, a whole week from now?
And yet….here we have not one, not two, but three St. Paddy’s Day parades tomorrow (which is, for the numerically impaired, March 11).
What gives?

This Has To Do With March Madness, Doesn’t It? Doesn’t it!
We’re betting (no pun) that this apparent mass calendar hallucination has to do with not missing NCAA tournament games next week.
We mean, wouldn’t the more logical date of a St. Paddy’s Day Parade be, like, right near St. Paddy’s Day? Like, the day after rather than SIX days before????
Of course, but next Saturday will be day 3 of the NCAA Tournament (Day 4 if you count the so-called “play-in games,” which we, as purists, do not), and we can’t let ANYTHING get in the way of that, right? RIGHT?

Fine! We’ll Just Go With It! Looking Forward To The June 5th Christmas Parade!
So there you have it. A multi-community conspiracy to hijack St. Paddy’s Day to avoid missing college basketball.
We hope everybody is happy!
Remember, you read it here first….

And Finally…
…something non-Paddy THIS weekend, as it should be.
You may not have noticed, but live theatre is making something of a comeback here in the Fox Valley. With new venues and new troupes opening what seems like every day, the region has the potential to become something of a theatre hub which, combined with our outstanding dining and other attractions, is really exciting.
Head over to Steel Beam to check out some local talent.

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
