    Female Jogger Accosted On Fox River Trail In St. Charles

    A 47-yer-old woman was accosted by a male assailant while running on the Fox River Trail in St. Charles Monday evening.

    According to a press release from the St. Charles Police Department, the victim was jogging along the Fox River Trail near the 300 block of S. Riverside Avenue, just south of the Illinois Street Bridge, as part of a group, but had fallen behind. She then heard someone quickly approaching from behind.

    The person approaching then put his arms around her shoulders grabbing her chest and abdomen. She screamed at the male offender who then fled west bound across a pedestrian bridge, near Indiana Street, and was last seen running northbound on 1st Street toward Illinois Street.

    The offender was described as a male, unknown race or age, thin build, approximately 5’6” tall. He was last seen wearing gray or dark camouflage winter coat and dark pants.

    St. Charles patrol officers and detectives are actively investigating this crime.
