According to a press release, at approximately 6:27am Sunday, firefighters were called to a residence in the 30 block of Fernwood Road in unincorporated Oswego Township to investigate outside smoke. Upon arriving , they discovered a structural fire and immediately ordered a General Alarm.

While firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack to bring the fire under control, searches of the residence resulted in the identification of a deceased resident along with a deceased pet.
