A Batavia man has been charged with possessing and distributing multiple images and videos of children being sexually abused.
The 29-year-old man has been charged with 20 counts each of Reproducing child pornography, a Class X felony, and Possessing child pornography, a Class 2 felony.
The activity alleged in the charges occurred between July 2022 and November 2022, according to prosecutors.
Judge Salvatore LoPiccolo issued a warrant for the suspect’s arrest and set his bail at $100,000 with 10 percent ($10,000) to apply for bond. The suspect surrendered at the Kane County Sheriff’s Office on November 18, 2022, posted $10,000 bail and was released.
His next court appearance is set for December 5, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 211 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office’s Child Exploitation Unit along with the Chicago Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations of the Department of Homeland Security conducted the investigation.
