An Aurora man has been charged with First-degree murder in the brutal beating death of Isidro Nevarez, also of Aurora.

Earlier this month, the 33-year-old subject allegedly struck the 68-year-old Nevarez multiple times in the head with a blunt object, killing him. The alleged offense took place at a Grove Street residence.

The accused then stole Nevarez’s pick-up truck, as well as credit cards issued to Nevarez, which he used at several locations.

In all, the accused has been charged with:

  • First-degree murder, 2 counts
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle, Class 2 felony, 2 counts
  • Unlawful use of a credit card, Class 4 felony, 3 counts

The accused appeared recently in Kane County bond court. Judge Julia Yetter set his bail at $2 million with 10 percent ($200,000) to apply for bond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. November 3, 2022, in Courtroom 305 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
