Following a shots fired incident late Saturday evening, the Elgin Police Department arrested an alleged gang member on gun charges Sunday.
On August 20 at 10:54 p.m., EPD officers responded to the 2100 block of Royal Blvd. for a report of shots fired.
After investigating the incident and a review of the facts of the case by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, a 21-year-old Aurora man was charged with the following:
- Unlawful Possession of a firearm by a street gang member (Class 2 felony)
- Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon (Class 3 felony
- Aggravated UUW (No FOID) (Class 4 felony)
- Aggravated UUW (No CCL) (Class 4 felony)
- Reckless Discharge of a firearm (Class 4 felony)
The accused appeared in Kane County bond call Sunday morning where the Judge set his bond at $100,000 (10% to apply).
The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office also charged a 20-year-old Aurora woman with two counts of Aggravated fleeing and eluding (Class 4 felony) related to the incident. He also appeared in Kane County bond call this morning where the Judge set her bond at $20,000 (10% to apply).
