4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where male onesies are punishable by death.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
It’s a Festival! (again)
Look, we know.
This time of year a lot of recommendations we make are for festivals.
It really can’t be helped.
The Fox Valley is an awesome place. And, as such, there’s seemingly no limit to the amount of open-air fun to be had. So many communities have their own style, their own flair, and one could spend every summer weekend going to festivals and you wouldn’t get near covering them all.
So succumb to the mandate of the festival gods, or we’ll start recommending farmers markets again…

Naper Settlement Grunge (bear with us)
Admit it.
When you think of Naper Settlement, the first thing that pops into your head is “grunge,” right?
Welp, this weekend you’d be correct.
As part of its “Naper Nights” series, Naper Settlement will be featuring a combination of Alt-Rock and Grunge tribute bands covering the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
So don’t bathe or shave and slack your way over to what looks like a great time!

Sooooo-eeeeeee!
Pig races are back!!!
Let’s face it, pig races are pretty much the pinnacle of American civilization, and therefore world civilization! “Merica!
Of course, there are lots of other cool things to do at the Kane County Fair, but they certainly pale in comparison to watching 9 or so porcine speedsters slop their way around a circular track seeking fame as Hogworld’s next Usain Bolt!
It just doesn’t get any better than that.

OK, so a mixed bag this weekend. Friday’s gonna be rainy until early evening, with cloudiness after that. Saturday looks cloudy with wee bits of rain here and there, while Sunday looks like the best shot, with only the typical scattered thunderstorms normal for this time of year. As ever, plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
