4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where nature abhors a vacuum, but is otherwise agnostic on cleaning equipment.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
What’s This? A “Nice” Comedian?
We thought those were outlawed?
And yet, here he is.
Now, we admit we’d never heard of Michael Palascak until we came across him prepping for this enewsletter. Nice comedians are about as rare as caviar at a Grateful Dead concert.
(OK, we were going to make a reference to hygiene there, but we’ve got enough enemies.)
Anyway, check this guy out. There’s a video clip in the article. It’s kinda refreshing, to be honest.

Did We Miss The Memo?
The memo announcing Pink Floyd weekend?
In a weird coincidence, two Fox Valley music venues scheduled Pink Floyd tributes on the same weekend. It’s a Pinkapalooza, right? (Floydapalooza?)
But if that’s the sort of thing you like, you’ll like this sort of thing.
(No, we don’t know what that means either. We just kinda like the phrase.)
So Floyd-heads, here’s your chance. A whole weekend full of Floydian goodness.

For A Different Musical Experience…
OK, no gags here. That’s how much we think of this upcoming performance.
From the article:
“Scheherazade musically tells the tale of the beautiful young storyteller who, in order to dissuade her jealous Sultan from marrying, and then killing, a new wife every day in revenge for infidelity by one of his wives, marries him herself and then regales the ruler with captivating tales for 1001 nights, his fascination with her stories preventing him from killing her until he finally relents. Based on the Middle Eastern collection of tales known as the One Thousand and One Nights, this powerful and evocative piece is, itself, an act of exquisite storytelling through music, and is not to be missed.”
Go see it at The Hemmens.

And Finally…
Yeah, another shopping event.
But this is pretty cool.
If you haven’t been to Batavia’s downtown recently, well, you haven’t been….you know the rest.
The city has been really innovative in sprucing up its downtown and riverfront, and The Boardwalk is a perfect example. It’s basically Tiny Houses meets Farmer’s Market.
Give it a shot. And then have some lunch and/or drinks at the several nearby bars and restaurants.

Welp, it’s good thing that most of this week’s recommendations are inside, because it looks like a rainy weekend, with Sunday being our only respite. Thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening, rain off-and-on Saturday. Sunday looks dry, if not a little chilly with highs only in the low 60s. As ever, plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
