Paddleboat Quarry open on weekends in May; daily hours begin on Memorial Day

Naperville Park District plans to open the Paddleboat Quarry for weekend hours during the month of May, beginning Saturday, May 14, weather permitting. Paddleboats, kayaks and paddleboards will be available for rental on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

The Paddleboat Quarry will begin daily hours on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 30. Detailed information about fees and participation guidelines can be found at www.napervilleparks.org/paddleboatspaddleboardskayaking. Rentals may be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis on site at the hut overlooking the Paddleboat Quarry, located along the Riverwalk near Rotary Hill and the Riverwalk Café.

Naperville Park District operates two splash pads: one at the 95th Street Community Plaza at 3109 Cedar Glade Drive and one at Wolf’s Crossing Community Park at 3252 Wolf’s Crossing Road. Both splash pads are scheduled to open for the season on Memorial Day Weekend, weather permitting.

With Centennial Beach planning to open for the season Memorial Day Weekend, the Park District will not offer Midday Spray at Rotary Hill in 2022. Midday Spray began during the summer 0f 2020 to provide a place for kids to enjoy water play while Centennial Beach was closed, then ran for one more year as the pandemic continued to limit some recreation options. The splash pads at the 95th Street Community Plaza and Wolf’s Crossing Community Park provide similar water play with many more features to enjoy, as well as playgrounds and other park amenities.
