A 59 year-old man who was hit by a car while crossing Chicago Avenue in Elgin has died from his injuries, according to a police report.
The dead man, who has yet to be publicly identified, was crossing Chicago Avenue northbound on the evening of Wednesday, December 15th when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle travelling eastbound on Chicago. He was immediately transported to an area hospital where, on Monday, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Elgin police found that the vehicle in question was being driven by a 57 year-old male, who was not injured during the incident.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death and the EPD Traffic Unit continues to investigate the traffic crash.
