4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where Justine Fields won’t get sacked, we promise.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
In All Seriousness…
…this is going to be a slightly different 4FTW.
As we enter the holiday season – a season of giving, after all – we decided to focus this weekend’s activities on events that make a difference in our communities and the lives of its citizens.
We’ll be back next weekend with all kinds of Halloween silliness (we have a little of that at the end), but this weekend is devoted to some really good causes.
Starting with the Dr. Martin Luther Kind, Jr., Food Drive in Elgin…

Back The Blue
With all the controversy the police have had to deal with over the past year, it’s worth taking a moment to give thanks for the sacrifice these men and women make for all of us on a regular basis.
They keep us safe, they put their lives on the line to do so, and they rarely get the recognition they deserve for performing such a difficult but vital service to our communities.
So come on out to South Elgin and Back the Blue.

Bikers And Toys, Oh My
If you want to try something REALLY different, head on out to Sycamore for the 35th Annual A.B.A.T.E. Toys and Food Run at the Sycamore Speedway.
A.B.A.T.E. is an organization dedicated to the rights of motorcycle riders, but they do a lot of other good work along the way. This event is no exception.
If you’re a rider, bring out your hog and participate in the fun. If not, come on out and watch, listen to some music, and just kick back. It’s all for a good cause – food for the hungry and toys for children at Christmas.

And Finally…Putting The Scare In Scarecrow
It’s definitely that time of year.
As we creep (and we do mean creep) towards All Hallows Eve, our surroundings change. The air gets a bit chillier, the leaves turn and then fall, and the shadows grow longer, earlier.
It can’t help but feel like something wicked is amiss.
So go and enjoy the 36th Annual Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles. Check out the displays, check out the Family Zone for live entertainment of fun for the kiddies.

Your weekly weekend weather looks pretty good, with little chance of rain and highs in the mid-upper 70s. Plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
