4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where the line between genius and insanity
is dotted. Think about THAT.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Where Eagles Fear To Tread…
…is not Aurora. (OK, that was a little clumsy, we grant you.)
Aurora’s Downtown Alive! is back and promises to provide a really fun Friday night.
Headlining the fest is Eagles tribute band One of These Nights. (We guess Desperado was taken.) Between the music and all the other attractions of this regular summer event, downtown Aurora is the place to be on Friday evening.

More Aurora, More Music
Gotta say it, this “The Venue” place is really taking things by storm.
As we’ve mentioned in previous 4FTWs, The Venue in Aurora is turning into the hottest, well, venue in the Fox Valley.
This Saturday they bring the cool with their Jazz Festival in the Park. All I can say is, we’re diggin’ it.

On To Elgin…
We now go from the southern Fox Valley to the north, spending a (hopefully) lovely Sunday in Elgin.
First up is the Elgin History Museum’s Classic Car Show. While this is generally considered a dude-centric thing, ladies, don’t worry, civilized entertainment is in store just ahead.
The show starts at 11am, so check it out, grab some lunch and head over to….

Not For Catholics Only
…Wing Park to lap up some theatre (note the high-falutin’ spelling, you Philistines!).
Now we don’t know about you (though if we did we’d likely sell the information to the highest bidder), but the idea of a beautiful summer day sitting on the green grass with your significant other and/or family, perhaps sipping a libation, and watching women in habits do silly things sounds like a fantastic time to us.
Now, off to confession…

Unfortunately, your weekly weekend weather advisory indicates wet, wet, wet. While the heat and humidity will be gone, you’ll likely be dodging raindrops throughout. Plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
