After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Geneva’s RiverPark Summer Concert Series returns to provide two free nights of entertainment along the Fox River.

The concerts will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 11 and July 18 at River Park, located at North River Lane and Peyton Street just north of State Street. The programs, which will take place at the park’s stone amphitheater, are sponsored by the City of Geneva’s Cultural Arts Commission.

Good Clean Fun opens the series July 11 with an engaging performance featuring a playlist of party hits spanning seven decades. The group has quickly become one of the region’s most requested party bands after playing across the United States as well as Ireland, Trinidad and Thailand. More recently, Good Clean Fun has shared the bill with top oldies acts like Jay and the Americans and Chubby Checker, and it has opened for Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers and Tommy James and the Shondells.

The School of Rock Geneva House Band, comprised of its best students and several music teachers, takes the stage July 18. The group will provide an entertaining evening playing multiple genres of music including classical, rock, and rhythm and blues. The concert series gives the young, aspiring musicians of the School of Rock Geneva, 15 W. State St., an opportunity to showcase their talent.

All shows are free of charge. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket or even a picnic dinner to enjoy a beautiful evening along the Fox River. In case of inclement weather, performances will be postponed. Given the amphitheater’s seating arrangement, people who are not vaccinated should wear a face mask and social distance as best as possible.
