The Elgin Police Department is looking for a suspect related to an incident that occurred Thursday afternoon at Elgin’s Clock Tower Plaza.

At approximately 3:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business located in the 0-100 block of Clock Tower Plaza. A male subject had entered the location and made contact with an employee, whereupon the subject deployed a Taser, striking the employee who received a superficial injury. The motive for the incident is still under investigation and we are attempting to locate the subject in the photograph below.

The subject is described as a male black, approximately 20-30 years of age and who was last seen wearing a green hat, a grey shirt underneath a white long-sleeved shirt and dark-colored pants,

The Elgin Police Department requests that if you have any information that may assist, please contact our Major Investigations Division at 847-289-2600. You may also text a tip to 847411 and include ElginPD at the beginning of the message.

Please note: Unlike most other media outlets, it is Fox Valley Magazine’s policy to avoid using names or photos of individuals who are merely suspected or accused, but not convicted, of a crime.  The exception to that policy is when the police are actively looking for a suspect, as is that case in this situation.
