4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where we’ve decided to binge-watch the original Star Trek series
and we’re not ashamed. At all.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
It’s Dad’s Day Weekend!
And what could more “Dad’s Day” than fishing?
To be honest, we have no idea if the fishing is any good at Clark Island Park. But is that really the point?
We think it’d be pretty cool to sit with your son or daughter on a sunny Saturday morning just communing with the croppies and soaking up quality time. But that’s just us.
(And yes, we do have children….)

OK, We’re In Love With Rosie
Right, if fishing isn’t your thing, how about some good old-time rock ‘n roll.
That’s just what you’ll get when you check out Club Arcada this weekend. Two acts that will send you back to younger, more carefree days.
And as Dads, we all know we need that once and a while.

It Doesn’t Get Much More “Dad” Than This
Seriously, is this not the Dad’s Day-ee-est Dad’s Day thing of all?
A classic car show.
Now, we admit, the extent of our automotive expertise is pretty much putting in gas and oil (although we have on occasion been forced to successfully wrestle a spare tire onto the axle – here’s hoping never again).
But that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate some bitchin’ wheels on a nice summer day.

It’s Back
The Granddaddy of Illinois Festivals is back after it’s tragic cancellation last summer. And we can’t wait.
Now, technically, the festival isn’t THIS weekend.
Although, even MORE technically, that’s not true because there’s a pre-event this Sunday (something about Templars or something – what do we know, we’re half-German, half-Italian?).
So whatever the case, this is the hottest ticket in the Fox Valley, so we thought we’d (sorta) break the rules this time.

Your weekly weather advisory indicates nothing but sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s, low 90s. Plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
