Rye So Serious! | Roll With It

Once upon a time there lived a farmer who rarely slept, and night after night he attempted a new remedy with no success.

In desperation he yelled out to the universe, “why have you cursed me!” Thunder clapped back and said “it’s an opportunity!”

The farmer struggled, but continued to search for fulfillment and rest. To pass the time he began tending to coffee cherries, which are grown in the shade. His nocturnal companions thrived under his care, and after nearly seven years they were ready for harvest!

In this time, the farmer had read extensively on rum and was convinced it was the perfect pairing for his coffee cherries. After infusing rum with the coffee for one month, kahlua was born and the farmer finally slept.

Enjoy the good vibes!

    • 2 oz @basilhaydens dark rye
    • .75 oz @kahlua
    • 3 dashes homemade tiki bitters

Add lots of ice and all ingredients to your mixing glass, stir for 45 seconds. Strain into chilled coupe glass, serve straight up and garnish with lemon peel.
