Inspired by a long family history of wholesaling and retailing diamond jewelry dating back to the 1970s, The Diamondaire was founded in 2010 by me (Billy) and my beautiful and very sharp wife Lauren. While on a road trip headed west, we came up with the idea of a custom jewelry shop with aggressively priced loose diamonds. While waiting for repairs after our brakes went out in the Rockies of Colorado, we conjured up a simple concept, which has since become our driving mantra: “Be great at 3 things: loose diamonds, jewelry design, and jewelry appraisals.” Out of that simple notion, The Diamondaire began to take shape. Slowly, we built up our inventory one creation at a time!
Competitive diamond buying was a skill I learned from my father. My dad also instilled a very simple but crucial philosophy. He said: “Just offer fair prices and treat people fairly.” That’s it! And we take pride in doing this every day. Lauren also brings a design and finance background to our arsenal and has always pushed for The Diamondaire to manufacture its own custom jewelry. Each and every diamond and gemstone that comes through our door is hand selected for allure and value – from the largest center stone to the tiniest accent diamonds used in mountings. We pride ourselves on the freedom of a creation of your very own at fair prices, which is why we are proud that we are able to produce everything in-house, including jewelry repair, CAD software for inspiration and a 3D printer for manufacturing. This increases safety, quality, communication, and creativity all while cutting back on time and price.
The Diamondaire offers a wide selection of bridal jewelry available for same day delivery as well as within the store. We use the word “store” loosely because we designed the layout to really be more like our living room than a retail shop. We even have a complimentary bar!
