Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new COVID mitigation guidelines that lifted, with a few exceptions, masking requirements for fully vaccinated people.
While that was welcome news for many, if not most, Americans, there has been some pushback from both epidemiologists and the general public, suggesting that this step is premature.

100% TOO SOON! I don’t know what the CDC is thinking! I don’t know and trust the people around me, and you know the first to ditch their masks will be those refusing to get the vaccine. Honor system? Don’t make me laugh. I’ll be masking and am fully vaccinated. Our kids and the immunocompromised will be put at great risk with this terrible decision. I hope Illinois doesn’t lift the state mandate, and I hope the schools are smarter than the CDC and keep masks on students for their safety.
