Aurora police are investigating a shooting on the city’s East side Friday afternoon, the second such shooting incident of the day. The two incidents are not considered linked at this time. At approximately 3:44pm on Friday, Aurora Police officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 1100 block of Bonner Avenue, where they located a 45-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound inside a residence. Aurora police are actively investigating a shooting that took place this morning on Aurora’s West Side, roughly a block away from Aurora West High School. According to the Aurora Police Department, at approximately 9:33am, officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the 2000 block of West Downer Place. Initial information indicated gunfire occurred between individuals associated with at least two vehicles in the parking lot area. A South Elgin man involved in a fatal traffic accident is in custody after being accused of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Joe Grage announced yesterday that Judge Joshua Dieden has granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for the 48-year-old man accused of causing a fatal crash while intoxicated, killing 35-year-old Laura O’Keefe and seriously injuring a passenger in her vehicle. Update: Oswego police have released the identity of the 20-year-old man killed when his motorcyle struck a towed trailer in Oswego Saturday. “The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist as 20-year-old Stone Antrim, of Oswego. An autopsy was conducted on Monday, May 11, 2026. Preliminary findings indicate he sustained multiple injuries consistent with a motor vehicle collision. The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman found dead in Campton Hills last Friday evening as Nena Peduzzi, 44. Peduzzi was found dead in the driveway of her Campton Hills home and an autopsy conducted Monday revealed that she died from traumatic brain injuries consistent with being struck by a car. Toxicology samples were collected and sent to a national forensic laboratory for analysis. Police have described the incident as isolated with no threat to the community. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser has announced hat her office will not be filing criminal charges against Aurora police officers involved in the March 19, 2025, death of 19-year-old Aurora resident Christopher Lepe. A 20-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle struck a towed trailer in the 4000 block of Route 34 in Oswego Saturday afternoon. According to the Oswego Police Department, at approximately 1:42pm Saturday officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Route 34 near Wolf Road for a crash involving a motorcycle with unknown injuries. While en route, dispatchers advised that the motorcyclist was unconscious and receiving CPR. Campton Hills police are investigating the death of a woman found in a residence in the 4N600 block of Brookside West Drive in Campton Hills Friday evening. According to police account, at approximately 10:45pm Friday Campton Hills police officers discovered a deceased woman at the residence following a report of a disturbance there.
