As reported yesterday, a group representing Whole Foods has now closed on the former Blue Goose property, adding finality to the end of an era in St. Charles. Geneva’s RiverPark Summer Concert Series kicks off this Sunday with a unique musical experience. The Illinois Brass Band opens the series at 6 pm, Sunday, July 2, at River Park, located at North River Lane and Peyton Street just north of State Street. What has possibly been the worst-kept secret in the tri-cities can now be confirmed: Whole Foods will be moving into the historic Blue Goose space in downtown St. Charles. The Annual July 4th Fireworks will be launched from Langum Park, located at 7th and Madison Avenues in downtown St. Charles, rather than its traditional anchor at Pottawatomie Park. The move is in response to public safety recommendations on behalf of emergency responders, led by the St. Charles Police Department, working in collaboration with the St. Charles Park District. The Aurora Police Department has issued a request for the public’s assistance in locating any information or tips from a shooting that left two people hospitalized at a party on the city’s east side. On Saturday, June 3rd, at approximately 10:36PM, police responded to a call for a fight in progress in the area of South Broadway & Bluff Street.
