West Suburban Irish will be putting on their third annual Naperville Irish Fest this weekend. On Friday and Saturday, September 22-23, there will be live music, Irish cultural activities, Irish dancing, Hurling and Camogie demonstrations, children’s activities and more during the family-friendly festival at Naperville Central Park, 104 East Benton in Naperville. Bond was set at $300,000 Friday for a West Chicago man charged with injuring a pregnant woman during an alcohol-induced traffic accident last month. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Glen Ellyn Chief of Police Philip Norton announced that bond has been set for a West Chicago man accused of causing an accident while intoxicated that seriously injured a pregnant woman. The 28-year-old West Chicago resident appeared at a bond hearing this morning where Judge Daniel Guerin set the bond. A South Elgin man is in custody after threatening a St. Charles man with a handgun early Thursday morning. At approximately 12:27am Thursday morning, St. Charles police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Main Street for a report of a man with a gun. There were reports of several shots fired and the suspect was last seen southbound on 3rd Street, from West Main Street. An investigation discovered that that the 31-year-old offender had threatened an undisclosed adult male victim by pointing a gun directly at him. An Elgin man is in custody after allegedly firing a gun in the direction of Elgin police officers responding to an unrelated call. During the evening of September 9th, EPD officers were in the area of South Geneva Street and Fulton Street on an unrelated call for service when they heard several gunshots in close proximity to their location.
