The St. Charles Business Alliance, which hosts the popular Electric Christmas Parade in downtown St. Charles over the Thanksgiving weekend, has announced its Grand Marshal for the parade. It’s a museum. The St. Charles History Museum will be the Grand Marshal for the annual parade, in honor of the celebration of the museum’s 90th anniversary. A man accused of being one of several robbers of multiple banks in DuPage County in July has been denied pre-trial release. The man, Kenneth Eggleston of Chicago, is a convicted felon and was out on parole for a weapon offense at the time of the alleged armed robberies. Eggelston, 30, also has two active arrest warrants out of Cook County for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer. Two cousins have been charged for the murder of a 17-year-old from Carpentersville during a shooting incident last week. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser and Village of Carpentersville Chief of Police Todd Shaver announced yesterday that the cousins are both charged with the offenses of: Prosecutors allege that during the evening of October 25, 2023, the cousins were driving in the vicinity of the 1-99 block of Robin Road, Carpentersville, when one or both fired multiple shots from a handgun in the direction of a vehicle containing multiple individuals. Aurora Downtown will once again have mugs flowing with hot cocoa throughout downtown. The downtown organization will host the fifth annual Cocoa Crawl on December 1 as part of its popular First Fridays events. Mugs and buttons needed to participate will go on sale November 3 at select downtown locations. To participate in the hot cocoa sampling during December’s First Fridays events, patrons will be required to have an official Cocoa Crawl mug and a new button for this year. An Aurora man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman in August of 2020. Rene Cano-Rodriguez, 32, was convicted of criminal sexual assault, Class 1 felony, after a bench trial conducted by Judge David P. Kliment. Cano-Rodriguez waived his right to a jury trial. According to prosecutors, during the evening of August 22, 2020, Cano-Rodriguez and the victim were attending a party at a residence in Aurora. Cano-Rodriguez gave the victim multiple shots of tequila to drink and was aware that she was highly intoxicated. Cano-Rodriguez helped to walk the victim to her bedroom and then sexually…

A bicyclist described by St. Charles police as “elderly” remains in critical condition after being hit by a car Saturday evening. According to the St. Charles Police Department, at 6:42PM on Saturday the elderly person was struck while riding their bicycle on Bricher Road. The bicyclist remains in hospital in critical condition at this time. The offending driver fled the area, but left behind a passenger side mirror and passenger side reflector. A man is dead after being caught in a house fire in Montgomery Sunday morning. At approximately 8:47am, Montgomery Police responded to a structure fire at a residence in the 1800 block of Ness Way. Officers found the two-story residence with notable black smoke and evidence of active fire. Three individuals escaped the home safely and reported that they believed a male was possibly still inside. Firefighters entered the home and found the man already deceased.
