Naperville police officers put on their hero capes Tuesday afternoon by rushing into a freezing pond to pull two adults and a toddler from their submerged vehicle. At around 1 pm, Tuesday afternoon, Naperville police were called to a pond near the 95th Street Naperville Public Library for a report of a submerged vehicle with occupants. On Halloween, 2022, 48-year-old Timothy A. Gordon cold-bloodedly shot and killed his estranged wife, 35-year-old Yajaira Gordon, in front of her mother, aunt, and two children. Yesterday, Gordon, a serial criminal with previous arrests for armed robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, and other weapons-related offenses, pleaded guilty to the brutal murder and will now face a sentence of between 45 years and life in prison.
