Bond was set at $300,000 Friday for a West Chicago man charged with injuring a pregnant woman during an alcohol-induced traffic accident last month. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Glen Ellyn Chief of Police Philip Norton announced that bond has been set for a West Chicago man accused of causing an accident while intoxicated that seriously injured a pregnant woman. A South Elgin man is in custody after threatening a St. Charles man with a handgun early Thursday morning. At approximately 12:27am Thursday morning, St. Charles police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Main Street for a report of a man with a gun. There were reports of several shots fired and the suspect was last seen southbound on 3rd Street, from West Main Street. An Elgin man is in custody after allegedly firing a gun in the direction of Elgin police officers responding to an unrelated call. During the evening of September 9th, EPD officers were in the area of South Geneva Street and Fulton Street on an unrelated call for service when they heard several gunshots in close proximity to their location. Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced that 49-year-old Samule Jones was sentenced to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections earlier this month by Judge Robert Pilmer after Jones had previously entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Drug Induced Homicide, a non-probationable Class X Felony related to the death of 46-year-old Terrie Trettenero. Three branches of the Aurora Public Library District were evacuated Tuesday after police received an online bomb threat. At approximately 2:41PM on September 12th, officers were dispatched to Aurora Public Library District branches after a bomb threat was received through an online source. An evacuation was ordered at all three branches as a precautionary measure while officers investigated.
