A woman is dead after being shot late Tuesday morning after what police believe was a domestic dispute. At 11:57am Tuesday, Elgin police officers responded to the 1300 block of Fleetwood Drive for a report of an injured subject. Officers arrived on the scene and located an adult female victim with injuries who was subsequently transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The name of the victim is being withheld until positive identification is made by the Kane County Coroner’s Office. A 26-year-old Carol Stream man is in custody after being accused of shooting another man following a road rage altercation last Thursday. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Carol Stream Chief of Police Don Cummings announced Saturday that Judge Susan Alvarado has granted the State’s motion to detain the accused pre-trial after he was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery – Discharge of a Firearm (a Class X Felony) and one count of Misdemeanor Endangering the Health or Life of a Child. Naperville police continue to investigate a shooting incident Sunday morning that resulted in a man being hospitalized. On Sunday at approximately 5:12am, Naperville police received a call indicating that a gunshot was heard in the 1500 block of Watkins Lane. The caller related that three individuals were involved in an argument in the parking lot and that, during the argument, a gunshot was heard. The caller reported that the three subjects fled on foot. Three men were arrested over the weekend after the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Trafficking Enforcement Bureau undertook a two-day human trafficking enforcement operation in the Yorkville area. The operation focused on identifying individuals seeking to engage in commercial sex acts. The men, ranging in age from 26 to 39, were all charged with Traveling to Meet a Child (a Class 3 Felony). According to witnesses interviewed by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and the Aurora Police Department, a man intentionally threw himself from the Farnsworth Avenue I-88 overpass onto the pavement below Friday afternoon, causing what authorities have termed “serious injuries.” At approximately 1:47pm on Friday, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora Police Department and the Illinois State Police were dispatched to the area of the Farnsworth Avenue bridge, which overlooks I-88, for reports that a male had jumped from the bridge down into oncoming I-88 eastbound traffic, near mile marker 119.
