A Chevy van rear-ended a motorcycle in the 400 block of South River Street in Batavia Sunday evening, ejecting the rider who subsequently died from his injuries. On Sunday, at 5:12 PM, officers were dispatched to a report of a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet van in the 400 block of South River Street. A McHenry man declared missing on April 22 was found dead in the Fox River this week, according to a press release from the McHenry Police Department. Since being declared missing, the McHenry Police Department has been aggressively investigating the disappearance of Gustavo Guzman-Perez, 28, from his home in McHenry, where he was last seen at 2:00am, April 22. On Wednesday, May 3, a boater spotted a male figure in the river near the 2000 block of South Fernwood Lane and reported to police. A 49-year-old Yorkville man died May 5 when he was struck by a freight train on the Union Pacific-West railroad tracks at the Third Street crossing in downtown Geneva. Geneva Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the scene at 8:53 p.m. for a train accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, police officers met with two men and located the Yorkville man near the tracks east of Third Street. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
