Elgin police responded to a pair of shootings in Elgin on Easter Sunday, one of which involved an injured victim. At 2:08am Sunday morning, officers responded to the 500 block of S. McLean Blvd. for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult female subject with injuries. A man was shot and killed Sunday evening on Aurora’s near-West side, according to a press release from the Aurora police department. Shortly before 10:00PM Sunday evening, Aurora police were called to the 400 block of west New York Street in repsonse to shots being reported. Officers located a 24-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle. Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
