That changed abruptly when he was stopped by Illinois State Troopers for a traffic violation. He’s now facing a minimum of 27 years in prison. Naperville police are investigating what they term a “targeted” attack on a Naperville west side man early Sunday morning. At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, Naperville Police Officers responded to the 1500 block of west Jefferson to a report of a fight in progress as well as shots fired. Responding officers located a victim who had been injured from being battered and found no one that had been struck by gunfire. According to a release from the Elgin Fire Department, on Sunday afternoon just after 4:00 p.m., members of the Elgin Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of Forest Drive for a report of a possible structure fire. Responding fire companies arrived in approximately 4 minutes of and found heavy smoke and fire in the rear and attic of a single family home. Crews were able to extinguish the fire within 20 minutes of arrival using 3 hoselines.
