The rider of a motorcycle who was killed when his vehicle was struck by a Chevy van in Batavia Sunday evening has been identified. According to the Kane County Coroner’s Office, the deceased man is 61-year-old Jeffrey Smith of West Chicago. The preliminary cause of death was multiple injuries due to a motor vehicle collision. Toxicology samples were collected and sent to a forensic lab for analysis. A McHenry man declared missing on April 22 was found dead in the Fox River this week, according to a press release from the McHenry Police Department. Since being declared missing, the McHenry Police Department has been aggressively investigating the disappearance of Gustavo Guzman-Perez, 28, from his home in McHenry, where he was last seen at 2:00am, April 22. On Wednesday, May 3, a boater spotted a male figure in the river near the 2000 block of South Fernwood Lane and reported to police.
