Tri-Cities police departments have announced that they will be combining efforts this upcoming holiday week in an effort to reduce crashes and enhance roadway safety through enhanced enforcement. The Geneva, Batavia, and St. Charles Police departments are joining forces to conduct additional selected location patrols during the week of Memorial Day. Beginning on Monday, May 23, through Monday, May 30, police will focus their enforcement efforts on heavily traveled roadways (Randall Road, Route 31, Route 25, and Kirk Road). A gofundme campaign has been started to help the family with funeral and medical expense The Kane County Coroner’s office has identified the person struck and killed by a Metra train in Geneva Tuesday morning. According to a press release, the victim was 17-year-old Caitlin Gallagher, a junior at Geneva High School. The manner of death is still under investigation. A gofundme campaign has been started to raise funds for Ms. Gallagher’s funeral and medical expenses. A 49-year-old DuPage County man is in custody and facing multiple child pornography charges as a result of an investigation by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensic Investigation Unit and DuPage County prosecutors. The suspect, who lives in unincorporated DuPage County near Darien, is being held on $150,000 bond following a bond hearing Wednesday.
