Reports from multiple media sources indicate that Governor JB Pritzker will announce a plan to eliminate his mask mandate requiring masking in indoor facilities statewide. He is expected to hold a press conference at 2pm this afternoon. According to the reports, Pritzker will offer a phased approach, which appears to mean that the regional approach taken in prior mandate planning will again be applied to the indoor mask mandate. Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 have both decided to maintain their masking requirements despite the temporary restraining order issued by a Sangamon county judge Friday. The Geneva School Board announced today that it will comply with the temporary restraining order issued by a Sangamon County judge and discontinue its requirement that all staff and students wear masks at school. Two people are dead and three in the hospital as a result of a violent crash on Fabyan Parkway in Batavia Sunday evening. According to police reports, at approximately 7:15pm Sunday, a 2017 Ford Mustang with two occupants was traveling westbound on West Fabyan Pkwy when it crossed into the eastbound traffic lanes, where it was struck broadside on the passenger side by a 2012 Kia Optima with three occupants. A Chicago man allegedly trying to steal some bicycles early Sunday morning clearly had a bad day. First, he literally got caught in the act by the Naperville police, who had been tipped off about the burglary in progress at Mike’s E-Bike Shop at 1701 Quincy Avenue in Naperville.
