The Kane County Chronicle reported today that the leading private development plan for the Charlestowne Mall has been shelved due to concerns from aldermen over whether the plan was “the best use” for the site. A masked man walked into a Lisle branch of US Bank (1026 Ogden Avenue) Thursday morning and gave the teller a note demanding cash. He then escaped on foot, according to a press release from the Federal Bureau of Investigations. No weapons were shown or implied. There is no information yet about the amount of money, if any, that was stolen. The suspect is described as a white male, approx. 6’0″, with a thin build wearing black gloves, black puffy coat, gray jeans, and a black beanie. On October 1, 2018, Rene Cuanetl of Queens, New York, sexually assaulted an Aurora child younger than 13 years old. Cuanetl knew the victim. Yesterday, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced that a jury had found Cuanetl guilty of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, Class X felony, and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Class 2 felony.
