After sweeping their first-round opponents in the first round of the American Association playoffs, the Kane County Cougars will now take on arch-rival Chicago Dogs for a chance to play for the Miles Wolff Cup.
The Cougars extended their season by taking their first-round series against the Lake Country Dockhounds 2-0 behind timely hitting and great pitching, clinching the series Friday with a 1-0 victory. Meanwhile, the Dogs beat regular-season East Division champion Cleburne Railroaders 2 games to 1, closing the series with two victories on Cleburne’s home field.
The East Division Final begins Monday at Impact Field in Rosemont, followed by game 2 on Wednesday at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva. Game 3, if necessary, will be played on Thursday, September 11, also at Northwestern Medicine Field. All games will begin at 6:30pm.
