Did you know that St. Charles is known as the Pickle Capital of the World?
Neither did we.
But according to the St. Charles History Museum, it’s the truth, and is certainly a sufficient reason to celebrate with a party in the park.
On Friday, June 21, the St. Charles Park District held Pickle Paradise, a delightfully quirky party at Pottawatomie Park in downtown St. Charles. The event celebrated all things pickle, along with a DJ, food vendors, a pickling demonsstration from Primrose Farm, lawn games and of course, a pickleball tournament.
Our Kevin Ketchum braved the myriad of puns and playfulness to give us a glimpse of the good times.
(We can’t believe we got through this without a single pickle pun. We advise you to relish our forebearance, because it’s pretty rare.)
