Welp, that storm didn’t disappoint.
(Unless you wanted snow accumulations, too.)
Severe thunderstorms and tornados swept throught the Fox Valley last night, resulting from a freakish late February temperature inversion that had temperatures dropping from the upper 60s to 20s in the space of about an hour.
Tornados have been confirmed in Batavia and near North Aurora, while funnel clouds were reported near Maple Park and Sugar Grove, according to the National Weather service.
Scattered power outages were reported throughout the region.
Damage assessment is underway throughout the Fox Valley. The City of Batavia reported a construction trailer blown over near the corner of Main Street and Randall Road, but overall, initial damage reports are moderate.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
