The Fox Valley Park District’s 54-year-old living history museum remains a popular destination throughout the year. Open May 1 through mid-August for general admission, camps and field trips, Blackberry features the Early Streets Museum, a collection of Fox Valley historical exhibits, an Adventure Playground and popular attractions, such as a replica steam engine train, carousel, pony rides, hay wagon and paddleboats. With stunning backdrops and photo ops throughout the year, Blackberry also plays host to widely popular seasonal events of Pumpkin Weekends throughout October and Holiday Express Thursdays-Sundays in December.
Every fall, just about the time Mother Nature starts to change her outfit, historical Blackberry Farm and its natural beauty plays host to Pumpkin Weekends – a popular, monthlong event for families to celebrate the season and add memories to the digital scrapbook.
Pumpkin Weekends are held every Saturday and Sunday in October along with Columbus Day, at Blackberry from 11am to 4pm.
Guests can roam the park, festively decorated in the spirit of pumpkin season, and enjoy unlimited rides on the hay wagon, carousel, ponies, paddle boats and replica steam-engine train. A picnic area will have pumpkins for purchase and an assortment of decorating materials will be provided.
