Glen Campbell fans won’t believe it’s not really him.
Geneva’s RiverPark Summer Concert Series continues this Sunday with a Glen Campbell tribute band led by Carl Acuff, Jr., the absolute spitting image of the man himself.
The Wichita Lineman – A Tribute To Glen Campbell will perform 6 pm, Sunday, July 9, at River Park, located at North River Lane and Peyton Street just north of State Street.
During his 50 years in the music business, Campbell released more than 70 albums. He sold 45 million records worldwide and accumulated 12 gold albums, four platinum albums, and one double-platinum album. He placed a total of 80 different songs on either the Billboard Country Chart, Billboard Hot 100, or Adult Contemporary Chart, of which 29 made the top 10 and of which nine reached number one on at least one of those charts.
The Wichita Lineman – A Tribute to Glen Campbell is a 90 minute show with a full band featuring his greatest hits like “The Wichita Lineman”, “Gentle On My Mind”, “By The Time I Get To Phoenix”, “Southern Nights”, “Try A Little Kindness” and many, many, more.
Acuff, Jr., (a 30 year entertainment veteran), along with a stellar group of musicians, take you on a trip through all of Glen’s biggest hits along with the last song he ever recorded, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You”.
All shows are free of charge. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket, or even a picnic dinner to enjoy a picturesque evening along the Fox River. In case of inclement weather, performances will be held at the United Methodist Church of Geneva Fellowship Hall, 211 Hamilton St.
