    Plano Man Hit, Killed By Amtrak Train

    A Plano man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train this morning near the intersection of Hale Street and Main Street.

    According to a press release from the Plano Police Department, at approximately 8:39 a.m. this morning officers responded to the railroad crossing near the intersection of Hale St. and Main St. for a report of an individual who was struck by an Amtrak train.

    The officers found an adult male subject with life threatening injuries. After speaking with multiple witnesses, it was determined that the male walked in front of the train on his own accord.

    Little Rock Fox Fire Protection District personnel also responded to the scene, after which the man was pronounced deceased.

    At this time, the identity of the male is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
