Meet Suzy – 2-Year-Old Shepherd Mix
Suzy is a gorgeous, gentle girl with a heart of gold. While she can be a bit nervous at first, she’s incredibly loving, happy, and eager to bond with her people. In her foster home, she’s been blossoming beautifully—getting along wonderfully with dogs and cats and slowly expanding her comfort zone, spending more time in the main room rather than her safe space.
Suzy is a picky eater who prefers wet food, but she absolutely adores her foster parents, showing her playful, silly side more each day. She’s house-trained and is even starting to enjoy playing fetch with a tennis ball. She’s not a big fan of the crate, but with patience and treats, she goes in when needed.
On walks, Suzy is relaxed and happy—as long as she doesn’t encounter strangers. She does have “stranger danger” and may bark at new people, but with space, respect, and time, she calms down and will approach on her own terms.
Suzy would thrive in a calm home with a confident dog to show her the ropes. She’d do best in a household without children or young teens due to her anxiety. With patience, love, and a gentle approach, Suzy will reward her forever family with endless loyalty, sweetness, and joy.

All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
