The body of a man discovered in the Fox River Thursday has been identified as and Elgin man who was reported missing by family members on June 30.

The Kane County Coroner’s office issued a statement identifying the man as Victor Marin, age 41. An autopsy was performed and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be drowning.

Results of toxicology tests remain pending.

In what is becoming an all-too-common occurrence, another body has been found in the Fox River, this time in Elgin.

According to police, this morning at approximately 2:47am, the Elgin Police Department was notified and responded to the area of the 200 block of South Grove Avenue for a report of a deceased subject in the Fox River.
