In what is becoming an all-too-common occurrence, another body has been found in the Fox River, this time in Elgin.

According to police, this morning at approximately 2:47am, the Elgin Police Department was notified and responded to the area of the 200 block of South Grove Avenue for a report of a deceased subject in the Fox River.

The Elgin Fire Department along with the Kane County Coroner’s Office responded to the area, at which time they recovered a male victim from the Fox River.

Authorities are withholding information regarding the identity of the male pending a determination by the Kane County Coroner’s Office.

The discovery is at least the 5th body recovered from the Fox River in Kane County this year.
